Amber Aguilera

Amber Aguilera began her beauty career as a cosmetologist in 2009. Her focus on male clients and their haircutting services ultimately led her back to the classroom to pursue a barber’s license, and in 2021, she became a dual-licensed professional in Texas. Her passion for learning is what led her to Johnny B.

The brand was participating in a trade show Amber attended, and she was drawn to the barbers cutting at the booth, surprised to see that one of them was a woman. Inspired by what she was watching, she knew working for Johnny B. would open doors for her that others couldn’t. She enrolled in Grand Prix in 2025 and followed with Barber Academy, completing both programs necessary to becoming a brand educator.

Continuing education is an essential part of her professional growth and how she stays current with what's trending. Amber begins every appointment with a detailed client consultation, ensuring every client feels seen before the first cut. While she does a lot of scissor cuts (mullets, or as she calls them, "Texas Waterfalls," are her favorite), she uses clippers to create a blend down method to maintain control of the fade. The technique combines both traditional and modern ways of blending, and its precision and consistency make it especially valuable when working with clients who require extra care and patience.

Through the years, Amber has specialized in giving haircuts to children with autism and sensory processing disorders, a space where trust, technique, and calm matter more than anything. Seeing the joy after a successful haircut is one of the most rewarding parts of her day.
