Ashton Nuzum

Ashton Nuzum’s barber journey began when he was still a kid, cutting hair for family and friends in his parent’s backyard. Rather than attend barber school, he chose to be a direct apprentice at a shop in Chandler, AZ. While this indirect route to obtaining his license wasn’t the most conventional, he admits it helped him build a career centered on professional development and independence.

During the last five years, Ashton opened a private studio and became an educator for Johnny B. His transition into education was fueled by a passion for continuous improvement and a desire to help others avoid complacency in an ever-evolving industry. For Ashton, education is more than just learning the importance of foundational techniques and new trends. It’s also an important gateway to financial freedom and career longevity.

Ashton believes that technical skill must be matched by a commitment to the client experience and finds his greatest reward in the confidence a fresh cut provides. Specializing in tapers, cropped haircuts, and refined "flow" styles, his work is defined by his mastery of shears and sectioning.
