Johnathan Valdez

Johnathan Valdez, a Chicago native, has been working behind the chair as a licensed barber since 2017. Specializing in clipper cuts, fades, shear cuts, hot towel shaves, shape-ups and lineups, he joined Johnny B. as an educator in 2018. His ambition drives him to continue learning everything he can to improve his skills. Before he was licensed, he was excelling and getting noticed by his instructors, winning awards in school. Inspired, he entered and won the first place trophy at the Wahl National Cutting Competition in 2016.

When he’s not behind the chair, Valdez is an instructor for Dudley Beauty College. More than a teacher, he is also a mentor, working closely with barber students and those newly licensed to help them navigate their journey through the many opportunities that are presented to those just starting out.

His passion for his profession and his love of his craft continue to propel him forward professionally. Valdez is a valued member of his community, holding annual fundraisers for the local football team
